As the government readies to launch a constitution that will redefine marriage to include gay couples, new christian group, The Coalition for Marriage (C4M) has launched a campaign in opposition.
The British government is on the verge of redefining marriage, which would make it the sixth European country, following suite with Norway, Sweden, Spain, Belgium, and the Netherlands.
The coalition sees the British government's move as "profoundly anti-democratic."

"The 24 million married people in this country are not even going to be asked whether they mind their marriage being redefined," said Colin Hart, chairman for C4M and leader of the Christian Institute.
Leader of C4M and former Archbishop of Canterbury, Lord Carey, also had strong words of disagreement for the government's plans."
“The honourable estate of matrimony precedes both the state and the church, and neither of these institutions have the right to redefine it in such a fundamental way."
“For thousands of years, the union of one man and one woman has been the bedrock of societies across cultures, all around the world."
“Marriage is a cornerstone of our society. Because of this, I believe the general public will oppose the present attempt to fundamentally alter – and undermine – the institution,” he wrote in the British publication Daily Mail.
The coalition is calling for others to join in their revolt, looking for many to join in signing their petition in order to prevent the redefining of marriage.
